Born in Iowa and raised as an Air force "Brat", Sharon has traveled the country and also lived abroad. She spent her early years creating musical numbers, short skits and dances for family and friends. Performing in her garage and charging the neighbors 10 cents to enjoy her quirky humor and hear her sing her heart out. She vividly remembers watching the Dean Martin Show with her grandparents, singing around the house with her mother and falling in love with it all. Ever since her earliest days, she was fascinated by singing and acting.
Her family moved by to the Indiana/Kentucky area in the late 70's, where she graduated High School. In 1982, Sharon followed in her families footsteps and became a professional vocalist. She joined the Top 40/rock band Night Voyager where she sang lead vocals for a number of years and later joined Midnight Flyer, one of the tri-state favorite bands. After moving to Florida in 1986 she became a wife and mother in no time and set her musical world aside. However, she could not escape the allure of the stage and in 2001 she began auditioning for parts in local theater productions. She quickly earned leading roles and performed in every show she could.
Sharon has had the good fortune to be a part of some fantastic theatre and has played along side very talented actors/actresses from around the country. She has worked with gifted and highly regarded directors, musical directors and choreographers. She is also earning her points toward her Actors Equity Card.
She is proud to say that she has gotten to perform on stage with her extremely talented son, Ryan Michael Owens.. who was bitten by the theatre bug at age 12 while working backstage on one of his mom's shows and is currently pursuing a professional theatre career...
She continues to seek professional theatre gigs and is available for Private Parties, Weddings, Fashion Shows, Staged Readings and Charity events.
